During the days of Pesach we will enjoy an Israeli and international culinary celebration. Also, there will be African and oriental touches. In addition, a team of expert chefs, cooks and pastry chefs will lead the kitchen. Some of the team will even arrive on early flights from Israel. As a result, the menu will be rich, fit for a king, and true to the tradition of the holiday.
Everything is at a high kashrut standard, “kosher lemehadrin”, with uncompromising service and quality. The “Kulanu Mesubin in Kenya” Seder will take place at the Royal Shaza Beach Resort suite hotel. In fact, this is the central kosher hotel along Kenya’s coastal strip. The hotel is located in “the queen of the coastal cities”, Mombasa.
The kashrut is “kosher lemehadrin”, under the supervision of Rabbi Shlomo Katzin shlit”a. In addition, shmurah matzah is served on Seder night. Also, it is served throughout the holiday to anyone who requests it in advance.
All meat and poultry products are under the supervision of Rabbi Shlomo Machpud. Also, some of the fish, dairy products and spices arrive on flights from Israel. The matzot, wine and other Pesach products also come straight to the hotel, with the hechsher of the Badatz Eda Charedit.
The hotel will be reinforced with two additional kashrut supervisors. They will join the permanent supervisor who stays at the hotel all year round. The supervisors will arrive in advance to kasher the whole hotel. This includes the dining rooms, the restaurants and the rooms.
Mobile kitchens, chefs and kitchen teams go out with the travelers to the reserves. In addition, a kashrut supervisor accompanies them all the way. So you will enjoy fresh, cooked meals throughout your stay on safari. The meals are served at the lodges and also as spreads out in the reserves.
The hotel has a permanent synagogue with a Sefer Torah. Therefore, the groups hold minyanim there in the Sephardi and Ashkenazi nusach, according to the travelers’ preferences.

Hello and welcome to Kenya, Karibu Kenya! Your safari experience starts here. So, when you land, our representatives will meet you at the airport. In addition, they will help you through the visa desk and baggage claim. From there we will accompany you all the way to the hotel.

Tens of thousands of Israelis have already called the cruise to Funzi Island “an unforgettable experience”. After an early breakfast we leave at 07:00 for the southern tip of Mombasa. On the way we cross by ferry and pass through the villages of the Digo tribe. From there we continue along the famous Diani Beach, ranked among the ten most beautiful beaches in the world.
In the village of Bodo, on the shore of FUNZI Bay, we board a Dhow, a traditional Arab sailing boat. While sailing between the mangrove islands you can see kingfishers and cormorants. Then we reach Funzi Island, a village of only about 1,200 residents. There we also visit the school, the water well and the local market.
Next we sail to the “Lost Island”, a sandbank that appears only at low tide. So here you can swim and relax in warm natural pools. Sometimes pods of dolphins even join the cruise. At noon we sail to Kinzini Island, where lunch awaits you. Finally, we return to the hotel at around 17:00. Dinner, shows and dancing, and bedikat chametz.

After breakfast we leave at 09:00 for a comprehensive tour of Mombasa. In addition, the guide will accompany you throughout the day. First, we visit the AKAMBA VILLAGE artisans’ village. There you will meet wood carvers, and you can even try carving yourself.
After that, we continue touring the city and see the “Elephant Tusks”, the famous symbol of Mombasa. Next we visit the colorful “Markiti” market, with tropical fruit, spices and fabrics. Finally, we tour the Old Town and the 15th-century “FORT JESUS”. Also, we visit the Jewish cemetery.
At noon we return to the hotel to get ready for the holiday. After that, holiday prayers at the hotel synagogue. Finally, the “Kulanu Mesubin in Kenya” Seder night, the largest in Africa, in the hotel dining room. This is the highlight of the safari in Africa on Pesach.

After breakfast we leave at 09:00 for a marine activity at the Marine Park. The activity includes snorkeling, a glass-bottom boat and an encounter with sea life. After that, we return to the hotel to freshen up and have lunch.
From there we continue on the “into the villages” tour and the experience of life in Kenya. We pass through huge sisal plantations toward the villages of the Giriama tribe. In addition, we visit a local orphanage school. There you can also meet the children and bring them some joy. Finally, we stroll through the village and get to know the local residents.
In the evening we return to the hotel to get ready for Shabbat. After that, Kabbalat Shabbat and Maariv at the hotel synagogue. Then a festive Shabbat dinner.

We wake up to a pastoral Shabbat morning, with coffee and cake before prayers. Shacharit with the Torah reading at the hotel synagogue. After that, Kiddush, cakes and the second meal.
In the afternoon there is an option for a wonderful walk on the beach. The team will take you on a walk at low tide (a sea safari). This way you will watch the low tide reveal the treasures of the sea. Alternatively, you can choose a walk in the areas close to the hotel.
After that, Mincha and Seudah Shlishit. On Motzei Shabbat, Maariv and Havdalah. Right after that we hold a Melaveh Malkah with a rich meat barbecue, a show and African melodies.

This is where the heart of the safari in Africa on Pesach begins. After an early breakfast (06:00) we board the safari vehicles. First, we drive on the Mombasa-Nairobi road, between the villages of the Giriama tribe. This gives us a glimpse into the life of the local community.
After that, we enter Tsavo National Park, the largest in Kenya (22,812 sq km) and one of the largest in Africa. However, there is no fence between the two parts of the park. So the animals move freely from side to side. In addition, in the reserve we will see hippos, lions, cheetahs and large herds of buffalo.
We stop for lunch and continue on another drive in the reserve. Finally, we drive to the lodge for check-in and the night.

We spend this day in a very special reserve, the “Taita Hills” reserve. We set out at 06:00, even before breakfast. This is the time to meet nocturnal animals, for example hyenas, foxes and leopards. After that, we return to the lodge for breakfast and continue touring the reserve.
The “Taita Hills” reserve is actually the highlight of the trip. Animals from both reserves, Tsavo West and Tsavo East, pass through it. That is why we see a large concentration of animals there. Also, more than 50 species of large mammals live in the reserve. In addition, it is home to more than 300 species of birds.
We stop for lunch and a rest, and then go out on another drive. Finally, at sunset, we return to the lodge for dinner.
Night safari: you can go out on a night safari drive in the reserve, at extra cost. This is a highly recommended experience, coordinated with your safari driver.

The day starts early, even before breakfast. So we board the safari vehicles and head deep into the reserve. This way we try to catch nocturnal creatures on their way back to their dens. It is also a chance to see big cats teaching their cubs to hunt.
After that, we return to the lodge for breakfast and leave the reserve. From there we continue to the coastal city of Mombasa and reach the hotel in the afternoon. Rest and preparations for the eve of Shvii shel Pesach.
Erev Yom Tov: prayers at the hotel synagogue. After that, we gather for a splendid holiday meal.
